Event terms & rules of play

Eligibility
Build Battles are open to anyone 18 or older. No coding experience is required. Registration is per person and non-transferable without letting an organizer know.
The build window
All building happens during the timed 60-minute window on site. You may arrive with an idea, notes, sketches, copy and images, but the app itself must be created during the window. Pre-built projects are not eligible for prizes.
Tools
Builds are created with Lovable. You may use AI assistants, stock images and public data sources. Any paid feature you use is your own responsibility.
Teams
You may compete solo or in a team of up to three. Teams share one submission and split any prize awarded to that submission.
Judging
A panel scores each pitch on the published criteria. Judges' decisions are final. People's Choice is decided by a live audience vote. Organizers may adjust the format if the number of pitches requires it.
Prizes
Prizes are described on each event page and may change before the event. Prizes have no cash value unless stated. Winners are responsible for any taxes owed.
Season points
Season standings are maintained by organizers. Points are awarded for participating, placing and winning People's Choice. Organizers may correct the leaderboard at any time.
You own what you build
Your project is yours. By pitching, you grant ATL Build League permission to show your project name, description and screenshots in event recaps and on the site showcase.
Code of conduct
Be generous with beginners. No harassment, hate speech, or dismissive behavior toward anyone in the room. Organizers may remove anyone from an event at their discretion, without a refund where a fee applies.
Recording
Events are photographed and recorded. Attending means you accept that your likeness may be used in ATL Build League materials.
Changes
Dates, venues, formats and prizes may change. Registered attendees are notified by email at the address they registered with.
